Welcome to Smertemestring

Smertemestring shares knowledge and a holistic understanding of pain mechanisms, the brain, the nervous system, symptoms of chronic pain, and sympathetic activation. It emphasizes the importance of the parasympathetic nervous system, the enteric nervous system, the vagus nerve, the diaphragm muscle, and breathing.

Our intention is to share knowledge, wisdom, and experience authentically from the depths of ourselves, as long as those around us are willing to listen, be open, and curious. Our vision and drive are to inspire and guide towards greater self-care, peace, joy, growth, expansion, vitality, and health so that you can live out your nature and essence. Live a life of meaning!

"Du skal ikke gjøre mer – men på en annen måte. Den gamle måten funker ikke mer. Noen ganger må vi rydde ut noe gammelt for å gi plass til noe nytt."

What is your goal?

Pain management is based on what the goal is. Getting rid of the pain, you might think?

It's a wish that is easy to understand, but it is not a suitable goal to navigate towards. Unfortunately, it is an unrealistic goal for many—pain cannot always be eliminated. And such a goal implies that you must focus on the pain, which in itself can exacerbate it.

Good pain management involves starting from the other end—not to get rid of the pain, but rather to fill your days with meaningful content even if you are in pain.

In other words, shift your focus away from the pain. It is your life and the day’s small and large tasks that deserve attention, not the pain.

Do you feel...?

An endless fatigue that doesn’t go away even after rest?

That your energy runs out long before the day is over?

That even the simplest tasks seem overwhelming?

Brain fog and dizziness that make it hard to remember, focus, or think clearly?

Pain and aching throughout the body or pain that moves around?

A constant feeling of inflammation, infection, or feeling feverish?

Sensitivity to sound, light, or smell?

Unpredictable days with varying levels of wellbeing?

Being "punished" with worsened symptoms after an active day?

Missing important moments with friends and family?

Welcome to the journey back to yourself and a life with meaning!

Feedback

Before I had pain, I engaged in development; when the pain took over, I engaged in complications. Now I have shifted my focus to resolution
